Have you ever read a blog called Nata Village? well if you haven’t you should check it out. While I was on the Nata Village blog I came across a short post called helping the less fortunate.

Nata village is a place where almost person in the community has full blown H.I.V Aids. While I was reading the blog I stumbled across a post that talked about some of the poor or orphan kids. Heres how it goes:

The department of Social and Community development and the Nata orphan trust have been helping the less fortunate by giving over 60 orphan children a good morning breakfast and lunch on school days on their way to Maun which is a bigger village that supplies shopping centers. When they got to the village they got 400 pula which is African money and equivalent to 100 American dollars to spend on good clothes for school for the next semester.

I think this is very important and is helping a lot because a lot of these kids are probably sick and don’t get a good breakfast which is important for school because it gets your brain going and makes you have enough energy to get through the day. The clothes were also important because without good clothes they would not get the proper hygiene they need and will feel comfortable.

So you see blogging can teach you about the world and show you what is going on in other countries.

Copyright. The license to give someone the full rights to their work. But can it be too much?

Copyright laws have not been around for too long. They are licenses that let they creator of the work decide how its used. Many different things can be copyrighted like pictures, music, movies, dances, books and plays. Copyright laws used to only last fourteen years but now they last your whole life plus another seventy years! After your copyright time is over the work goes into th public domain. The public domain means we are free to use it without asking permission. Along with this there is fair use. Fair use means you have the right to take a small amount of a piece (10 seconds) for a specific purpose like a parody. These laws are all very important.

Copyright laws are important because if someone has a good idea or makes a good piece of work it should be shared with the public. With copyright laws people can still look and get ideas from the piece but they cant take it and say its theirs. If their were no copyright laws then artist couldn’t make any money. People would also not be doing their work or wouldn’t be making their own art or ideas. There is another way to get certain peoples work, if it is under Creative Commons.

Creative Commons is a license that lets you take peoples work, say if you need a picture it is okay to take it. It is different from a copyright law because it changes ”all rights reserved” to”some rights reserved.” It is easy to get a creative commons license. All you have to do is sign up and click on how you want your work to be shared then they make a licenses thats right for you.

You see once you make something that is original than there are many ways for you to keep it yours to or to sell it out to the public! Thats all for now, bye

Truth. A five letter word with a big meaning. Truth is many things. It is a word recognized by everyone. The good and the bad. It can be based on short term and long term actions. It can be very harsh or something that can easily be delt with.

What I know to be true is that truth is like food. Everyone is trying to get there hands on it but unfortunately we can’t all get it. Some people are lucky when they get it. They must look in many places to find it. For some people it is right there and can be owned. When you think you don’t have enough you can just go and get more. At the end of the day no matter how much you have it is still rewarding to sit down together and or try putting what you have together and make something new. This means that everyone could have the truth if we all shared it and most people would be rewarded if they got it because if that is what they have been looking for then you can start something new and feel good about yourself. I know that this is true because I know a lot of the truth about my family and about my friends. When my mom started having more problems with her hips I knew a lot about what was happening to her until they started talking and figuring out some stuff. I started not to know as much. Then when they finally knew what was going on they stated telling me the whole truth until I knew most of it and had enough to put it together. Now I know that my mom has to get a hip replacement and she is always in pain. I have to do a lot more around the house now and when she gets the surgery in a few months or so then she wont be able to do basically anything for three months so that is going to be hard.

There are many things that people want to learn. They can be from learning how to swim to learning how to take care of yourself. Everyone has some kind of big questions. Well so do I.

Some questions that I have are kind of simple like how to do laundry, how to cook big meals, how to fix household items like pipes when they break down and how to drive a car. There are also some bigger questions like how is it like living on your own, how is it like to live in a big city on your own, what is university like and what would it be like if I had kids when I got older. I am already learning a great deal of things to help me out in these situations.

Right now I am being taught lots of things. They include learning to take care of myself by doing laundry some days, helping clean the house and cooking supper every once in a while. I am also learning lots of things in school that could help me in my every day life like math.

In school I am learning almost everything I need to know for my age group. I don’t think that I want to learn much more because we have covered a lot of it and will still be learning the rest in the future.

So you see There are many things I have yet to learn and discover but I am also learning a lot right now.

Parents! although sometimes they may be strict they are there for you all of the way.

I tink the qualities for a good parent are one who sets rules like curfews, be there when there is drama going on, help you when you are struggling to handle sports and school work, some money to have when you are going out with your friends and have food in your house. There are also things they need to help you do to get ready to become an adult.

I think the most important thing a parent can do for a teenager is be there for them when they go through their drama and help keep them into place. By that I mean I know it sucks to have rules but if we didn’t then we would jst get ourselves into trouble and I think no one wants to get caught drinking or anything. They could also start to make them do chores and their own laundry so that they know how to do it when they move out and also know how o cook.

These things will help you get through your university years and will help you get trough your tough teenage years too.

In school we are doing this big project called TED Talks. It is when we pica global issue and look at t closely. Then we think of ways to help solve it. I have picked Child Agriculture and learned so much about it then I knew before. Some interesting facts that I found out were:

. 70% of 132 million child laborers work in Agriculture

. They make up to 5 dollars a day

. They cannot go to school and get an education

. They pick such foods as cocoa beans, cotton, cotton seed, chilies, cantaloupe, bananas, and other fruits and veggies

. Kids ages 4-15 work

. Many kids dies from being cut by sharp tools or being crushed by heavy machinery.

I found this topic to be very interesting because I didn’t know about any of this and about how hard their lives are since the consist of working all day in the hot sun then going home too poor shacks and not getting much food. I hope you know what I now now about how hard life can be for some people.

Some good resources that you can go on when you are researching are Google, Wikipedia, technorati, Ask and people who you can contact. When you find your information you must look at the name and who wrote it because if it is some random guy chances are that the information wont be completely true. Always go on sites that are well known and contact people who were found on good trustful websites!

Have you ever really looked at yourself and wondered about your culture? I know I have been lately. For some people they know what culture they are from and have some everyday or special traditions. Cultures include things like music, food, traditions, language and more. People from Canada probably have a lot of different cultures because most peoples families have relatives who have immigrated to this country. I think culture is something that can’t be boxed because you usually will always know about your culture and have everything it has.

If I had to save something from my culture it would probably be the food because I am Ukrainianand the food is good and includes foods like perogies and cabbage rolls. I also think I would box some of the art work from my culture because there are wooden eggs that are designed very cool and different. Something that I also like about my culture is that we get to celebrate Ukrainian Christmas. It is one January 6 and 7. We usually have a big supper and we eat lots of Ukrainian foods. There are also more things that I do as a part of my culture.

The whole world is made up of different kinds of cultures which are all unique in their own ways.
