Food For School

Have you ever read a blog called Nata Village? well if you haven’t you should check it out. While I was on the Nata Village blog I came across a short post called helping the less fortunate.

Nata village is a place where almost person in the community has full blown H.I.V Aids. While I was reading the blog I stumbled across a post that talked about some of the poor or orphan kids. Heres how it goes:

The department of Social and Community development and the Nata orphan trust have been helping the less fortunate by giving over 60 orphan children a good morning breakfast and lunch on school days on their way to Maun which is a bigger village that supplies shopping centers. When they got to the village they got 400 pula which is African money and equivalent to 100 American dollars to spend on good clothes for school for the next semester.

I think this is very important and is helping a lot because a lot of these kids are probably sick and don’t get a good breakfast which is important for school because it gets your brain going and makes you have enough energy to get through the day. The clothes were also important because without good clothes they would not get the proper hygiene they need and will feel comfortable.

So you see blogging can teach you about the world and show you what is going on in other countries.

You Wouldnt Steal a Car..So Why Steal Art?

Copyright. The license to give someone the full rights to their work. But can it be too much?

Copyright laws have not been around for too long. They are licenses that let they creator of the work decide how its used. Many different things can be copyrighted like pictures, music, movies, dances, books and plays. Copyright laws used to only last fourteen years but now they last your whole life plus another seventy years! After your copyright time is over the work goes into th public domain. The public domain means we are free to use it without asking permission. Along with this there is fair use. Fair use means you have the right to take a small amount of a piece (10 seconds) for a specific purpose like a parody. These laws are all very important.

Copyright laws are important because if someone has a good idea or makes a good piece of work it should be shared with the public. With copyright laws people can still look and get ideas from the piece but they cant take it and say its theirs. If their were no copyright laws then artist couldn’t make any money. People would also not be doing their work or wouldn’t be making their own art or ideas. There is another way to get certain peoples work, if it is under Creative Commons.

Creative Commons is a license that lets you take peoples work, say if you need a picture it is okay to take it. It is different from a copyright law because it changes ”all rights reserved” to”some rights reserved.” It is easy to get a creative commons license. All you have to do is sign up and click on how you want your work to be shared then they make a licenses thats right for you.

You see once you make something that is original than there are many ways for you to keep it yours to or to sell it out to the public!   Thats all for now, bye
